Robert F. Rodriguez, Instructor

Mr. Rodriguez began drumming at age nine, by age ten he made his professional debut at a major Wisconsin music fest where he performed live on drumset for an audience numbering in the thousands, Rodriguez was already performing with his U.S. touring band.  Since beginning his professional music career, he has performed at notable music venues that include:  the original CBGB in Manhattan, N.Y., where he was one of the last drummers to perform live on the legendary stage, the famous Whiskey A Go-Go, in Hollywood, CA, The iconic Troubadour in Beverly Hills, CA and the former Picadilly Pub in Vancouver, BC where fans packed the house to watch the young Rodriguez, who many were referring to as a drum 'prodigy.'  

Rodriguez, has grown up as a musician.  During his young career he studied under former Vic Firth student, Joe Holmquist in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Mr. Holmquist regularly performs on drumset at the University of Nebraska.  Additionally, Bob has studied with Mr. Conrad Hanover, who has performed professionally with Doc Severinsen of the Johnny Carson Show, is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he was a percussion major and performed with the Trojan marching band and Mr. Chad Collver, a highly regarded drum and percussion instructor for several national DCI drum corps.

Bob attended the University of Kansas where he was selected to the Jayhawk percussion section as a Freshman and as a Section Leader in his second season.  He and his bandmates performed before a capacity crowd exceeding seventy thousand at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium. 

Rodriguez is currently a student at Kansas Sate University where he intends to perform with the Wildcat marching band, major in Music Education and perform in arguably one of the best jazz programs in the United States. 

Bob continues to perform with his band.  In 2006, Rodriguez was awarded a gold metal for his percussion performance in helping his high school band, The Rampart Regiment of Colorado Springs, win the Colorado state marching band title. 

Music magazines, university professors, teachers, music professionals and his peers continue to express opinions that Bob is among the best young drummer/percussionists in the world. 

Mr. Rodriguez is NOW accepting lesson students.  All lessons are being held in his professional studio.  Parents and students interested in becoming a 'Bob Rodriguez' music student should read the following rules then contact Prodigy Drum and Percussion Studio to schedule lessons:

Rules

-Students must be at least ten years of age (please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate)

-Students under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18.  Accompanying adults should be prepared to remain for the duration of the lesson. 

-Lessons may be paid a month in advance or payment can be tendered at each session.

-All payments must be by personal check (Manhattan, Topeka and Lawrence area financial institutions only)
